Hertford is one of many towns facing the development pressures coming from society - and which central government wants to concentrate in our part of the country.
The Society continues to take every opportunity to comment extensively on the impact we believe their plans may have on the town, the district and the county. As well as making our own response to the East of England Spatial Strategy, we provide input to East of England Association of Civic Trust Societies (EEACTS), which represents Civic Societies from across the Eastern Region, and the Association of North Thames Amenity Societies (ANTAS) representing societies in Hertfordshire.
As a Society, we have made representations to the Inspector for the Local Plan Enquiry on recognition of the Green Finger and the impact of the night time economy. At the end of last year we submitted detailed responses to the consultations on supplementary guidance documents supporting the Local Plan that was adopted at a meeting of the full District Council; the topics were Planning Obligations, Landscape Character Assessment and Community Involvement. |
In coming months we will be required to provide responses to other topics that will impact the local community. For this reason we sought your opinions at the "Wither Hertford "forum in March of 2007. A review of this meeting can be viewed HERE.
Hertford Civic Society can only be as good as our volunteers and members. To those that give their support, THANK YOU, and to those that don't, I urge you, for the good of our town, to GET INVOLVED.
